World Champs 2009!!!

neilcuninghame003.jpgWorld Sprints Champs is finally upon us. After months of training and 30 hours of travelling, we arrived in Hallifax for worlds. Its great to be here. The weather is warm and it is a nice feeling to be overseas for a race in a country outside of Europe, where everyone speaks english. We are staying at Dal Housie University which is very comfortable and situated in a really nice suburb. We are going to race on lake Banook which is situated in Dartmouth, about 20 minutes away from where we are staying. It is 1 and a half weeks till we race, so we have time to aclimatise and enjoy the new conditions. I will be racing the 1000m K1 and 500m and 200m K2 with Mike Arthur. My training has gone very well since SA marathon champs so I am very excited to race. The pic above was taken on the 2nd last day of our training camp at Nagel Dam. As you can see we were feeling the cold from the snow that had fallen on the mountains.
